Alvin Frank Lee (Joe), age 85, of Polson, MT passed away at his home on February 8, 2024, surrounded by his son, Brad Lee, wife, Dolores, stepdaughters, Nancy Wallace, and Susan Lambert.

Alvin was born on June 29, 1938, at his parent’s dairy farm home in Lonepine, Montana Valley. As a youngster he assisted with daily chores on their farm. He enjoyed his various pets, teaching them tricks. He attended Lonepine grade school and on through the eleventh grade. He excelled in track, baseball, and especially high jump, broad jump, and racing. In the winter he was an ice skater on the Lonepine Valley Reservoirs. His dad’s cabin on Flathead Lake was a getaway where they fished and boated. He hunted too.

Alvin’s many jobs were painting heavy equipment, construction on I-90 from Saltese to Look Out Pass, Libby Dam Road to Eureka, many places in the west from Oregon to New Mexico. He logged in Lincoln, Montana, and worked for Lake County Landfill for twenty-three years, retiring in 2000.

Alvin’s interests were motorcycling, baseball, fishing, hunting with his son, target practicing, his many pets, camping, and racing C-stock with Denny Dumont, number 318.

In September 1958, he married Barbara Faye Anders. She preceded him in death in 1999. In December of 2002, he married Dolores Adams, of Lonepine, Montana.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Dolores, son, Brad, of Pablo, granddaughter, Tiffany Lee, two stepdaughters, Nancy Wallace and Susan Lambert, stepson Monte Lambert, of Florida, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three nieces, Laura (Bruce), Cheryl (Todd) Nelson, Lisa (Dan) Moore, grand nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, Dale Adams, of Lonepine, Montana, and Larry Adams, of Berrien Springs, Michigan, and sister-in-law, Lynn (Ralph) Seland, of Red Deer, Alberta.

At Alvin’s request, a private graveside service will be held in celebration of his life.
