Amber Michelle Jonas-Cummings

April 20, 1981 — April 13, 2022

Amber Michelle Cummings, 40, of Polson, passed away in the evening of Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at home on the couch while listening to music streaming from her phone and eating Nachos for dinner. She was born on April 20, 1981, in Stockton CA, to June Ellen Newman (mother) and Lonny Jay Cummings Jr (father). As a child Amber lived in Rathdrum, ID, and attended the local elementary school until she moved to Lakeland High School where she graduated in the year of 2000, giving birth to her eldest son the same year.

She attended art, learned some German, and played in musical talents. Her first job was at Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, ID. She lived in several states. For a short time as a child, she lived in Washington. In Idaho, she
lived in Rathdrum, Troy, Moscow, Coeur d’Alene, Caldwell, and Boise. She then moved to California, living with family in Valley Springs near Stockton.

After California, she moved to Montana—her final resting place—found a house to live her life with her children—at the time in school still—to grow a new life.

Throughout her life she had entered three separate marriages with Scott Box being first, Jesse Guyett being second, with Andrew Jonas last. Amber and Andrew were married in the evening of Thursday, July 15, 2021 leaving Andrew a widower at the time of her death. During life, they lived together at her home in Polson, where both worked for Walmart in Polson, with the plans of having a honeymoon the following summer.

She was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as of July 21, 2017 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost with a love of Jesus in her heart.

She enjoyed music, gardening, nature, art, photography, spirituality, and spending time with family.

As a loving and beautiful daughter, niece, mother, wife, and friend, she always took care of her children, friends, and family with a deep and loving passion.

She was preceded in death—chronologically—by her Grandpa Homer, Grandma Evelyn Fern Johnson, brother Ricky Jay Cummings, Grandma Emma Louise Newman, brother Ifechukwu Jay Cummings, and Uncle Daniel
Newman.

She was survived—in parent to child order—by her mother June Ellen Newman (57, Polson MT), stepfather Billy Ray Baker (49, Polson MT), stepmom Bibian Nwokedi Cummings (47, Fargo ND), father Lonny Jay Cummings Jr (58, Fargo ND) daughter Carmon Daisy Box (18, Hayden ID), son Charlie Corbin Box (19, Ronan MT), her eldest son Chance Joseph Johnson (21, Polson MT), and her animals; dog Boo (12, Polson MT), cat
Gizmo (14, Polson MT), cat JayBee (12, Polson MT)—left to her son Chance.

A final viewing was held at 1PM April 19th prior to cremation on the morning of April 21st. Celebration of Life will take place at 2PM Monday, May 9th, 2022. Contact must be made with the family for further details regarding Celebration of Life.
