Anastassia Mae'lee Michel

May 21, 2001 — August 25, 2023

Anastassia Mae’lee “Ana” Michel was born in Polson, MT on May 21st, 2001, to Uriah Michel Sr and Shavonne Walker.  She was welcomed into the world with a room full of grandmas and aunties on her grandpa, Orsino Walker’s birthday.  She also shared her day with her birthday twin and one of her best friends, Walter Reddick.

Ana grew up in Dayton and Elmo, surrounded by her family. She could be found riding with her grandpa checking cows at an early age, riding horses with her mom or hanging out in her grandma, Leslie’s kitchen. She was a grandma’s girl to both her grandma, Leslie and her grandma Diane.

Ana loved to dance at powwow’s and was welcomed into the circle at the age of 2 by Eldene Stanley and Julie Birdstone during Standing Arrow Powwow.  She enjoyed being in the parade during the powwow riding a horse or truck she’d be smiling and waving to the crowds.

She was excited when she found out she was going to be a big sister and never left her mom’s side while she was in labor with her little brother, Uriah Jr. She took on the role of big sister with ease and would be like a second mom to her brother growing up. When her brothers Zanen, Tanner and Luther came in her teen years she was just as excited.  Ana also considered her cousins as her siblings and could be found with Lexi, Nolan, Zale, Kordell, Kristen running around Elmo and Dayton. She loved her sister/cousins Catherine and Elaina from the moment they joined the family. She would instill her love of softball in Catherine.

She attended school in Dayton Elementary, Polson School district and Two Eagle River School. While attending Dayton she participated in their annual Christmas program. For her school picture while at Dayton she wore her Fancy dance outfit, they still have this picture hanging at the school.

She excelled in sports and could be found on the softball field, basketball court or swimming at the lake during the summer. She loves that her papa, Kenny, would be at all her softball games cheering for her.

While attending Two Eagle River School she would meet her companion, Trestin Plant.  Together they would make their home in Elmo with her family and in 2019 they welcomed their daughter, Hazel Jean-Marie. They would also raise Ana’s little Sister, AnnMarie Michel until her untimely passing. Ana loved both her girls so much. 2022 they would welcome Walter Lee, a little fighter from the beginning.

Ana is preceded in death by her grandmother, Leslie Kallowatt, her grandfather, Kenny Lefthand, her sister, AnnMarie Michel, her birthday twin, Walter Reddick.

Ana is survived by her children, Hazel Plant and Walter Michel, her mother, Shavonne Walker, brother, Uriah Jr., her father, Uriah Sr (Rochelle) and her brothers, Zanen, Tanner and Luther, her grandparents, Orsino Walker, Diane Michel and Philip Kallowatt, her partner Trestin Plant, her Aunts Kara Walker, Lucinda Michel, Tish Kallowatt (Gene), Marlene Bullchild (Kenny), her uncles Howard Walker (Eva), Jeremiah Michel, Jonell Kallowatt (Stormy), Kelvon Kallowatt and numerous cousins, and her special buddies Acut, Blake, and Jordan.
