Barbara Ann Voss

Barbara Ann Voss was born in Ashland, Alabama, and was 74 years of age when she went home to be with our Lord God. Barbara is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Wayne Voss of Polson, Montana, son, Mark Andrew Voss (Stef), daughter Rebekah Dawn Voss, one sister, Gail Wilson, and her husband, Ralph Wilson, of New Site, Alabama, and one brother, Chris Padgett, of Kent, Alabama. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Barbara’s life was exemplified by her kindness, generosity, love, service, and gracious hospitality until she began to show signs of an unusual strain of dementia that started after she had heart failure in 2009. The signs of the dementia were noticed by her husband after she underwent open-heart surgery in 2010, gradually getting worse until her homegoing on August 18th at approximately 8:30 PM in the presence of her husband and two dear friends from the community in which they lived. Barbara received the Lord Jesus as her Savior on July 22, 1973, and she faithfully served Him the rest of her life until she was mentally no longer able to do so. Even then, she could be found at home expressing in words and actions her devotion and love to her husband, Wayne, and to anyone in which she was in their presence. Her smiles were contagious. She was a pianist, teacher, beloved wife, friend, and witness for her Lord Jesus.

Her legacy of love, devotion, and service to her Lord Jesus, her husband, and so many around her will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

The funeral service for Barbara will be conducted on August 22, 2026, being officiated by Pastor Tom Lemmons at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5425 Gharrett Street, Missoula, MT, at 11:00 AM. The service will be followed by a meal so graciously provided by the members of the church who greatly loved Barbara.

The interment of her remains will be conducted after a short graveside memorial at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery, 1911 Tower Street, Missoula, Montana, at 3:00 PM on September 4.
