Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Brenda Santos went with our creator on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021.
Brenda was born in Saint Ignatius, Montana on April 3rd, 1956. She attended schooling in Saint Ignatius, but graduated from Ronan High School in 1972 after the family moved. Brenda also attended Salish Kootenai College as well as the University of Montana pursuing her degree in psychology. For almost two decades, she spent her years working for the CS&KT as a proud tribal member in various departments and positions.
Brenda had various hobbies and activities she enjoyed including; beading and making regalia for pow wows, which she also loved to attend. She especially loved spending time with her family and going on adventures into the woods. Brenda was also an avid Law and Order watcher who also enjoyed reading. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Santos Sr. and Marliss Santos, as well as her brother Dale, and her former husband Douglas McCrea, her brother in laws, Michael McCrea, Humphrey McCrea, Kevin McCrea, baby Coleman, and beloved dog Pugsley McCrea/Santos.
She is survived by her daughter, Saylah McCrea, her son Brian (Susan) McCrea, her grandchildren Selena, Mya, Aaliyah McCrea, as well as her great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Betty Quequesah, Cindy Santos, Linda Altamirano, Dawn (Joseph) Lilley, and Joseph (Mali) Santos Jr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and first cousins.
Brenda’s viewing will be held at Lake Funeral Home on Sunday, August 29th from 6pm to 9pm. Followed on Monday, August 30th by a gathering of prayer at the Saint Ignatius Community Center at 1:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Snyelmn Cemetery in Saint Ignatius followed by a Celebration of Life/Feast after services at the Saint Ignatius Community Center.
