Craig Erin Wallace

Craig Erin Wallace Sr., 60, passed away suddenly on August 26, 2026, in Riverton, Utah. He was born on September 24, 1965, in Missoula, Montana, to Harold (Bud) and Nancy (nee Jackson) Wallace.

Craig leaves behind his loving wife, Allison, of almost 32 years – his rock, his love, his fiercest defender, his best friend – and his loving son, Craig Jr. (CJ) Wallace. In addition, Craig is survived by siblings Carol Warbelow, Sheri Wallace, Don Wallace, Scott Wallace, Rick Wallace, Brock Wallace, Heidi Novak, Amy Hall, Jenny Wallace, Julie Coffman and their extended families. Craig was preceded in death by his parents Harold (Bud) and Nancy Wallace, and his brother Tim Wallace.

Craig attended Medford Senior High School in Medford, Oregon, and completed one year of Special Education at a Community College. Craig spent 25 years in hotel management, followed by 15 years in construction management.

Craig was a renaissance man – he enjoyed mowing the lawn, working on cars, building NASCAR models, and fixing anything that needed to be around the house. Still, he had a soft spot for kids, animals, and his favorite orchids and roses. He was a Big brother to a young boy in Kalispell. You could often find Craig sitting in the garage, where he attracted neighborhood kids wanting their bike fixed, or collecting stray dogs. When he was able, he enjoyed ‘date night’ golfing with his wife Allison and friends Lois and Jared, Connie and Steve.

Craig had a dry sense of humor – he loved comedies that were a little racy, and a little slapstick. His favorite movies were Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, Blazing Saddles, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. His favorite YouTube videos were diverse – young kids singing in malls, remembrances of how feral we were as children born in the 60s, he loved to hear babies laughing and, of course, babies farting, or little kids expressing themselves with naughty words.

Craig was very handy – if he didn’t know how to do something, he watched YouTube videos or took it apart until he had mastered it. He always wanted to rebuild a 1966 Chevy Chevelle and enjoyed watching Barrett-Jackson car auctions, NASCAR, Formula One, and Indy. In recent years, he tried to pass on his knowledge to Allison and CJ.

With family and friends, he was very kind and practical, and he tried to find good in everyone. Craig was a casual dresser – from his New Balance shoes and Wranglers to a T-shirt and plaid shirt, and one of his many, many baseball hats. He was also very patriotic – instructing his Canadian-born wife, Allison, on how to hang the flag and illuminate it properly. He genuinely loved his country.

A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson, MT.
