David Duane Drake

David Duane Drake, 61, of Pablo, passed away on April 20, 2026, at his home. He was born on October 31, 1964, in Vancouver, WA, to Arlene Drake and David Anderson. He moved to Montana in 1991 where he later met the love of his life Shirley Drake on August 14, 1992.

He worked as a mechanic most of his life. His true passion in life was stock car racing; he spent most summer weekends out at Mission Valley Speedway. He was very successful in winning many races and championships. He was well known by the racing community, and all his accomplishments will be remembered by many for years to come.

He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle to his entire family. Also, as a great friend to so many people, his laughter and smile were always enough to make anyone’s day brighter.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Arlene (Hollis) Drake; father David Anderson; sister Joanne (Larry) Bettencourt.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Drake; daughter Brittney (Eric) Drake; son Brandon (Veronica) Drake; grandchildren Emma Drake, Crash Drake and David Drake Jr; sister Tamara Austad; brothers Dwayne (Deanna) Drake and Michael (Ginger) Drake; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in June 2026 to remember David.
