David Edward Funke, age 75, passed away December 21, 2024, at St. Patrick Hospital of natural causes. David was born to James (Jim) Funke and Eva (Pollmann) Funke on July 30, 1949, in Polson Montana.
Dave was a lifelong Polson resident graduating from Polson High School in 1967 and shortly thereafter was drafted into the United States Air Force in 1968. He served until his discharge in 1972, after spending time in Germany. He returned home and spent several years working for Western Bee Supplies in Polson.
Dave had many interests that included, the latest in electronics, music, a good card game or game of trivial pursuit with friends and family, and his most recent dog, Baby.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents James and Eva (Pollmann) Funke, and his brother Daniel (Danny Funke) in 1975.
Dave leaves behind his brothers, James Funke of Polson, Frederick Funke and wife Sandy of Polson, Larry Funke and wife LouAnn of Federal Way, Washington. He also leaves behind his son Ryan Thormahlen, grandchildren; Garrett, Allison, Jillian and Aidan; daughter Daun Hume and husband Marion Johnson, grandchildren; Jesse (Maylissa), Tyler Hume, Antonia Johnson (Angelo) and Ely Johnson. Dave also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved neighbors and friends.
A graveside service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery on January 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm with a reception to immediately follow at the Polson Senior Center located at 504 3rd Ave. E. Polson, MT, with refreshments and light snacks.
