Doris Alleyne Bardell

Doris Busbee Bardell, 81, of Casa Grande, AZ, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Hot Springs Health and Rehab. Doris was born December 18, 1934 to Ray and Thelma Busbee, the third of seven children.

From an early age, Doris was musical, first learning the autoharp and the piano as a teenager. She then went on to learn the guitar as an adult. Her life's passion was singing and playing guitar, she especially enjoyed entertaining and ministering to the residents of nursing homes. She spread smiles, joy, love and God's Word wherever she went, complete with her wildly colorful outfits and big hats to match. Her proudest accomplishment in life was her family, who surrounded her in her final days.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Louis, Lawrence and Leslie, and her husband, Harley Bardell.

She is survived by her son John Joiner, husband William Jacobs, her son Keith Joiner, wife Joanette, granddaughter Kristin Joiner and grandson Jason Joiner, wife Tina and great grandchildren Gracen and Lincoln, step granddaughter Jaime Bancroft and great grandchildren Bailey, Tyler and James. Additionally she is survived by brothers Leland (Barbara) and Loren Vance (Maxine) Busbee and sister Sandra (Richard) Porter.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 3, at 11:00 am in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the Church of God. Graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter.
