Dureen Dawn Blixt

January 9, 1967 — July 7, 2023

Dureen Dawn Blixt-Leo, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Polson, Montana on July 7, 2023, due to natural causes. She was born on January 9, 1967, in Polson, Montana, to Marjorie Phillips and Jimmy Blixt.

Dureen lived a vibrant life, embracing the beauty of her surroundings and cherishing the simple joys that life had to offer. She had a deep love for horses and found solace in riding them through the scenic landscapes of Montana. Swimming in Flathead Lake brought her immense happiness, as she felt a profound connection with the reservation she grew up on.

Gardening was another passion that Dureen cultivated. She possessed a green thumb and took great pleasure in nurturing her plants, creating vibrant and blooming gardens. In her leisure time, she enjoyed listening to the police scanner, staying informed about everything going down around town.

Dureen's grandson, Morgan, held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with him. Their bond was a testament to the love she had for her family and the joy she found in becoming a new grandmother.

For many years, Dureen dedicated her talents as a cosmetologist, bringing beauty and confidence to countless clients of Hairway 93. Her skills and fiery personality touched the lives of all of her customers, leaving a lasting impact years after closing the doors of her salon.

Her affection for her animals was evident to anyone who knew her. She showered them with love and care, creating a home filled with furry companionship and unwavering loyalty.

Dureen leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived in death by her loving husband, Ken Leo; her son, Jeffrey; her daughter, Darian; her mother, Marjorie Phillips; her brothers, Jon, Cheyene, and Shawn; and her sisters, Carla, Leslie, and Charleen. Dureen was preceded in death by her father Jim and two sisters Andrea and Chucky.

She was a source of strength and support to her family, and her memory will forever be held close to their hearts.

In honoring Dureen's life, let us remember her robust spirit, her humor, and her unwavering love. May her legacy inspire us to embrace life's simple pleasures and to cherish our loved ones deeply. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
