Obituary for Edward Robert "Bus" Luce

Edward 'Bus' Robert Luce, 87, of Polson, MT. (formerly of Havre, MT) passed away from natural causes on November 12, 2008 in Polson, MT. He was born in Douglas, Kansas, the son of Edward and Mildred Luce. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Martin Luce: daughters: Mildred Luce Lindell (Loren) of Fox Island, WA: Ramona Luce Knutson (Jim) of Raynesford, MT: Roberta Luce Morelli (Jim) of Polson, MT: grandchildren: Larry Lindell (Tracy), Kristen Lindell Bonnici (James), Angie Knutson Boberg (Darin), Edward Knutson (Tiffani), and Jaime Morelli. Great grandchildren: Lorin, Madison & Teah Lindell: Dillon and Kaitlyn Boberg: Alex and Madison Knutson: and Wesley & Wade Bonnici. A brother, Joe Luce of Springfield, MO and a sister Lois Luce Dassonville of Bigfork, MT also survive Edward. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Luce. Growing up in Kansas, Ed worked in construction and farming in Kansas and Montana. Ed and Mary Jane bought a caf��sh and farm in Frazer, MT in 1951, where they raised their three daughters. Ed drove the Frazier School Bus for many years in all kinds of weather and is remembered by many students and parents for his many years of service to the Frazier community. He later moved to Havre, MT in 1970 with daughters Ramona and Roberta, where Ed worked for the Cenex Fuel Co. driving a large fuel truck until he retired. They continued to live in Havre until moving to Polson, MT in 2007 where their daughter, Roberta Morelli, resides with her family. Ed can be remembered as a faithful, loving husband to wife, Mary Jane, loving father to their children, and a teasing Grandpa to grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening with his wife. He was loved by family, friends and neighbors and will be remembered for his teasing sense of humor and willingness to help others. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. 'Life is not measured by number of breaths we take- but by the moments that take our breath away.' Memorials may be made to Lake County Hospice or Gift of Life. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sat. November 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grogan Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rowold officiating. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson. A guest book may be signed and condolences sent to the family at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
