Elizabeth L. Dann, age 95 of Polson, MT, passed away on August 5, 2024. She was born in Hartsgrove, Ohio on October 9, 1928, the youngest of Alexander and Euphemia Petrie Lawson.
Elizabeth lived in Mentor, OH, before moving to North Carolina in 1976, and finally to Polson, MT in 2023. Elizabeth was active in Boy Scouts, 4-H, and in the women’s groups in her church. She was a survivor of various forms of cancer. She was a member of St. Francis United Methodist Church, and a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Covered Bridge Chapter #591, Rock Creek Ohio. She loved all kinds of music from Bluegrass to Opera. She and her husband loved to dance. Being of Scottish descent, she loved to hear the bagpipes. Elizabeth also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and gardening. She especially enjoyed raising Hybrid Tea Roses and blueberries.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Dann, whom she married on June 9, 1951. She was also preceded in death by brothers William and Alexander Jr., and sisters Euphemia A. Lawson, Ethel L. Orient, May L. Wilburn, and Winifred L. Haight.
Elizabeth is survived by a son, Bruce G. Dann (Jennifer) of Wilmington, NC, and daughter Janet D. Austin (William) of Polson, MT, grandchildren, Blake (Jessica), Meredith, and Sloan, precious niece, Barbara O. Palmer, and many more dear nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held later at Mentor Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband.
