Jerry Albert Dauenhauer

Apr 25, 1943 — Sep 26, 2026

Jerry Albert Dauenhauer went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 26, 2026, at the age of 83, following complications of pneumonia and dementia. Due to his dementia and frail condition, Jerry was eventually admitted to a care center where he passed away peacefully.

Jerry was born on April 25, 1943, in Charlo, Montana, to Anton and Norma (Roylance) Dauenhauer. He lived elsewhere most of his childhood but returned to the family ranch with his father for his senior year in high school, where he graduated. On March 31, 1962, he married Carol Faw, and they moved to Helena, Montana, where their first daughter, Dawn, was born. They then moved to Missoula, Montana. Jerry got a job with the sawmill and worked there until it closed down. They were blessed with two more beautiful daughters, Cheryl and Tracy. The family moved once again to Washington. Jerry went through truck driving school and then began long-haul trucking between Washington and California. He and Carol were divorced on December 16, 1977.

Jerry was a skilled carpenter, having learned the trade at a young age from his father. He was building log homes in Polson, Montana, when he met his present wife, Darla Jensen. They were married on June 28, 2003, and spent 23 wonderful years together. Jerry enjoyed telling stories from his past and joking around. He was a very thoughtful man, never missing an opportunity to help someone. He was greatly loved by his family and will be missed by all who knew him. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Dorothy Dauenhauer; sisters and brothers; his precious daughter, Cheryl Marks; and his son-in-law, John Findley.

He was survived by his wife; his daughters, Dawn Sherman and Tracy Findley; sons-in-law Joe Marks and Robert Sherman; his sons by marriage, Clinton and Allan Stipe; grandchildren Sean, Christopher, Riley, Justina, Makaela, Christian, Kalie, Joshua, and Kelseigh, and Joshua, Samuel, Emma, Elli, Ivy and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Mason, Reece and Elli.
