Joan McDermott

Joan M. McDermott, age 83, of Oswego, IL died on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Rush Copley Medical Center Aurora, IL. She was born December 22, 1934 in Evanston, IL daughter of the late Anton and Mildred Williams nee Perry.

She met her husband William McDermott and married him on August 24, 1992 in Polson, MT. Joan also attended Harper College where she earned her nursing assistant certification. She was a member of the Spare Squares Square Dancing Club (IL), the Park Ridge Runners (IL), the Red Hat Ladies Club (Polson, MT) and was also a member of the St Joseph Medical Center Service League Board (MT).

She is survived by her five children Dale Richmeier, Bruce (Karen) Richmeier, Linda Oefelein, Carol (Fred) Meyers, and Deanne DesParte; ten grandchildren, Robert, Jackie, Justin, Becky, Matthew, Cristi, Stephanie, Jamie, Kayce, Kyle; and one sister Jean Dieterich. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William McDermott, and a son Gary Richmeier.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday November 3, 2018 from 2:00 PM until a Memorial Service at 4:00PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd. Oswego, IL.
