Obituary for Julia Elva Horstman

Julia Elva Horstman, 95, long time resident of Polson, MT passed away peacefully May 6, 2010 at Royal Park Care Center in Spokane. She was born October 24, 1914 in Sabetha, Kansas to Theodore F. and Evalyn C. (Carre) Ziegler. She attended elementary and high school in Hamlin, Kansas. Moving to Bonner MT in 1935, she married Raymond J. Horstman, her long time friend and love from home. The Horstmans moved to Polson in 1944 where Julia helped Ray operate their radio and music store and raised three boys Gilbert, Gerald and Charles. Following Ray\'s death in 1958, she worked and retired from St.Joseph Hospital where she worked in the offices. Julia enjoyed reading, music and traveling to visit friends and family. In 2005, she moved to Deer Park for health reasons and in order to be close to relatives. She predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ray and her son, Gilbert. She is survived by her sons Gerald Horstman (Faith), of Deer Park, WA, Charles (Marsha), of Odessa, TX, daughter-in-law, Clara Horstman, of Hayden Lake, ID, 6 grand children and 5 great grand children. Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, June 26, at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson, officiated by Reverend Richard Widerholdt of Polson Community Church. Following the ceremony, the family invites all to a reception held at the parish hall of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
