Kimberly Rose Hewankorn 42, of Polson, passed away on August 27th, 2025. She was born on November 17th, 1982. Kimberly lived with grit, great creativity and a heart that left a mark on everyone she knew.
She was rugged, honest, and real- a protector, a genuine friend, and a creative soul with a big imagination. Kimberly fought her own battles in life, but those who knew her never doubted her love. She listened without judgment, turned sorrow into laughter, and had a way of making hardships feel like nothing more than bumps in the road.
Not long after finishing school, Kimberly dove into food service. She threw down pizzas, cooked at the convent, worked in daycares, and became known for dishes that carried her spirit-especially her enchilada casserole, it’s still talked about to this day.
Her humor, toughness, and deep care made her unforgettable. Though her passing was sudden, her laughter, her food, and her love still continue to live on in the people she touched.
She was preceded in death by her father Leland James Hewankorn (Jimi), her older sister Lisa Denny, and her younger sister Karen Sue Hewankorn.
Kimberly is survived by her mother Karen Fahlgren, her children Adella Ort, Karen Sue Hess, Kwelulexw Hewankorn (Peanut), Xiamara Plant, Marvella Hewankorn, and Leland James Friedlander; her siblings Christina Hank, Candy Hewankorn, JD Denny, Jami Hewankorn and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.
There will be a Wake beginning on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Elmo with a Rosary at 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. at Elmo.
