Laurel Lee Morgan, age 66, of Dayton, Montana, passed away on June 14, 2025. He was born December 12, 1958, in Plentywood, Montana to Leonard and Arleen Morgan. He loved growing up in Montana and knew it was the only place for him. After graduating from Ronan High School, he joined the Air Force and traveled the world. His experiences in the military led him to love this country.
In his travels he met Helen Hylla in Reno, Nevada and had a son Thomas Morgan. He was stationed in numerous places like Tacoma, Washington, Yokota, Japan and Cheyenne, Wyoming with his family while in the military.
After 20 years in the Air Force, he retired and moved to Des Moines, Iowa. In 2002 he ended up getting a divorce and moving back to the Flathead Lake Montana area where he loved it. He then met Terra Johnston and had a daughter Adrean Morgan.
He served this country with a passion in the military and out to make this world a better place. Tours in Shemya, Alaska and Desert Storm used his expertise in maintaining transportation vehicles and fire trucks.
With everything he learned about this world, country and military he applied to inform others. He stayed on top of current political events and offered his insight into situations. He never shied away from talking his opinion on whatever issues were going on in the world.
One of his favorite things to do was read. The list of books he finished could fill a library. With his knowledge of mechanics, he loved to fix things. He had the trouble shooting skills of a genius and could walk you through whatever was needed.
Working on the SS Hodge serving the Flathead Lake community was another love. He spent his final days right where he wanted.
Survivors include his son Thomas Morgan and family, his daughter Adrean Morgan, his brothers Wes Morgan, Ron Morgan, and Cliff Morgan, and among others like his nephew Fred Morgan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 am at The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
