Lois Elizabeth Shore, 97, of Polson, Montana, passed quietly and peacefully at home on the afternoon of September 7, 2026. She was born in Saco, Montana, on January 22, 1929.
Lois is survived by her two children, Kathy Shore, of Polson, Montana, and Harry Shore (and wife Dolores), of Indio, California, along with grandchildren Kari Wise (Husband Jason), Michael Nelson (Wife Stephanie), and Richard Shore (Wife Amy), along with great grandchildren Ursula Wise; Isla, Burke and Rhodes Nelson, and Mason Shore.
Lois was proceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Fred Shore, who passed in 2011, and grandsons John Wise (Son of Kathy Shore) and Kevin Shore (Son of Harry Shore).
She had an exciting life, growing up in the prairies of northeastern Montana, going to a one-room log school house with only boys. She met her life partner Fred Shore in 1947 and lived in Havre Montana where she and her husband started a greenhouse, nursery and flower shop. In 1960, the family loaded their station wagon and drove to Anchorage, Alaska, where they lived before retiring to Polson in 1976.
Lois had many stories she shared with her family. She was proud of them, and their achievements. She loved her family deeply. She and Fred had green thumbs, and passed that talent to their daughter Kathy, who has passed that talent to her daughter Kari.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of The Lake Funeral Home.
