Mark Joseph Brubaker

September 8, 1950 — February 28, 2024

Proctor

Mark Joseph Brubaker, 73, passed away at his home in Proctor, MT on February 28, 2024. He was born on September 8, 1950, at Ft. Campbell, KY to Angus B. and Janice A. (Tipton) Brubaker.

Mark was a very talented mechanic and ran his own business at his home for many, many years. Being in rural Montana, having a local mechanic was essential. Mark knew that. He worked on many vehicles without pay, which didn’t make sense to some, his philosophy was “They need a running vehicle so they can get to work and make money”. He was also a member of the local volunteer fire department for several years.

Mark was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. Even after Mark was discharged from the military, he obviously found other ways to serve. Mark lived in his own style and was known for his red polka-dotted hats.

Mark also worked as a ranch hand, could fix anything that was broken, and was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and made many memories spending time in the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

Mark was the father of two daughters he was very proud of, Wendy and Misty. The two girls blessed him with four beautiful grandchildren.

After Mark retired, he spent his time playing cards with neighbors, still tinkered with some vehicles, and found some hobbies that he could enjoy as his health declined over the years.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Angus and Janis Brubaker.

He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Brubaker and Misty Rockwood (Dan), his four grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Evan, and Brayden, brother John, niece Laney, nephew Luke, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kevin and Malika Cunningham.

Mark was a quiet man but left a lasting impression on all those who knew him. He will be remembered well and missed by several.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
