Randall Eugene Neumann was born May 6, 1950, in Spokane to Rose Marie Courville Dupuis and Kenneth Neumann of Polson, Mt. He made his transition into the spirit world Thursday January 4, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.  Randy’s friend Nick came over with his guitar and sang Randy a Hawaiian song, once it was over, Randy smiled and took his last breath.

Randy was a proud member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes.  He graduated high school at Sunset High School Beaverton, Oregon in 1968.  He studied at Portland State University.  Randy was an avid surfer and in 1970 he was listed as one of the top surfers in the Northwest, United States.  He lived in Anchorage, Alaska, Pahoa, Hawaii, Manzanita, Oregon and finally, Polson, MT.

Randy managed the Akebono Theatre for many years in Pahoa, HI and was a radio personality hosting jazz and blues segments in Alaska, Oregon, and Hawaii.  He was a music entrepreneur and promoted many concerts during his lifetime.  He was a sales representative and eventual owner of Maui Sun Ocean Lotions.  He travelled throughout the World, visiting France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Mexico, Fiji and New Zealand.  He promoted and supported the efforts of the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Man and Women.

Randy was a true family man and supported his brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews throughout his life. He always had a bag of “goldfish” to hand out to his nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Elizabeth Finley Minesinger and Hubbard Dupuis, Herta and William Neumann, Aunt Nancy Hackett, Cousin Eliza Phillips, Brother Wesley Alan Neumann, Mother Rose Marie Courville Dupuis Neumann, and Father Kenneth August Neumann.

Randy is survived by his Brother Gary Neumann, Anchorage, sister Elaine Harrison, Polson, Brother William Neumann, Philippines and Brother Dean Neumann, Mechanicsville, VA.  Nieces, Jenna Ness Neumann, Breanna Harrison, Chelsea Martin and Nephews, Blaine Neumann and Wesley Oscar Neumann.  Cousins Daniel Rathbun, Hazel Vargas, Kenny Rathbun and Cindy Stampflee and their families.  Many grand nieces and nephews.

Randy always had a kind word and story to tell when he saw you.  He is riding a big wave and smiling his big smile.  A gathering and song fest will be held in his honor this summer on Flathead Lake.
