Obituary for Russell Eugene Plum

Russell Plum, 64, was a Montana man. Russell passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018. He loved the farm life he grew up in, the log cabin, the animals, the forest, and nearby mountains. These were things that called out to him throughout his life, things that had such a profound effect on him that he wanted the family he would make to experience as well. Times change and things happen and being a Farmer wasn’t in the cards for him. He understood that a man had to make it somehow so he became a handyman, a jack of all trades as it were. He took on many professions to provide for his growing family – electrician, truck driver, whatever needed doing he would do as his father did before him.

On the outside he was a bear of a man, physically imposing with a strong deep voice. On the inside he was a sensitive loving man that would help any person or animal that needed it. He loved his wife and three kids more than anything in the world and wanted nothing more than to have them around him forever and share all of his favorite things: hunting, fishing, building and riding Harley’s.

Russell lived life to the fullest. He believed that material possessions held no value, and he thought that the wealth of a man, and the only thing that can be brought to the other side, is love. He loved his family and spent his life showing it and they love him more than they could ever show, so if he was right, he truly is the richest man.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Earl Plum, and mother Glenda Plum. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Regina Plum, daughter Felicia (Brad) Pinnick, sons Jonathan “Bo” (Maria) Plum, and David (Morgan) Plum, 6 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 1 brother, and numerous other relatives.

There will be a family gathering Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th at Polson Senior Center from 11am-3pm. There will be a funeral service at 11am on Monday, August 27th at The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow.
