Shirley Ann Moody, age 85 of Polson, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the hospital in Ronan, MT. Shirley was born April 27, 1936 in Leanna, Kansas to Bill and Hazel Crawford. She moved with her parents and some of her siblings to Ronan in 1947. Shirley met her husband Leonard while attending Ronan Middle School and married him September 16, 1956 in Ronan. She was married to him for 65 years. She and Leonard were best friends, companions, life partners, and business partners.
Shirley gave of herself in so many ways to family and friends and cared for several foster babies while living in Missoula. She also selflessly gave one of her kidneys to her eldest son Chuck. Shirley was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church of Ronan and Polson where she belonged to several groups and organizations within the church.
She is survived by her husband Leonard; her children, Chuck (Sylvia) Moody of Missoula, MT, Barbara (John) Fairchild of Polson MT and Dave Moody of Westfield, MA. Son Michael Alan Moody preceded her in death. Her siblings include Lawrence Raymond Crawford (Deceased), Rachel May (Glen) Almond (Both Deceased), Elsie Elizabeth (Donald Deceased) Byers, Betty Jean Crawford (Deceased), Evelyn Maxine (Gary) Buchanan, Peggy Louise (Clao) Milner, and Sharon Kay (Rodney) Hanson. Shirley was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
