Todd Lee Burland Jr. “TJ” was born into this world on Monday, July 1, 2002, and left us far too soon on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend has gone on to a place of peace and rest, where he is reunited with his beloved four-legged son, Harley, four-legged sister, Daisy, and Rock, together again, just as they always were.

TJ grew up in the heart of Polson, Montana, where his love for the outdoors began at a young age. An avid hunter and true outdoorsman, the woods were his second home. He shared countless memories hiking, fishing, trail riding, and cutting wood with his family and friends. These moments are filled with laughter, adventure, and connection that will live on forever.

His smile could light up a room, and his presence made people feel at home. If you knew TJ as a friend, you knew he would be there, anytime, and place. He valued friendship and respect deeply, and once you were his friend, you were family. He loved his extended family fiercely and carried that love wherever his journey took him.

TJ’s path led him to Dallas, Texas, and eventually back home to Montana, where he was building his life and future.

TJ touched more lives than he ever knew and leaves behind many broken hearts. Amongst those broken hearts is the love of his life, Jaja; His Mom, Georgia Cook; Father Todd Burland (Tracy); Sisters, Ysabelle, and Karson (Jake); and Brothers, Ambrose (Niche), William, and Kurtis. He is also lovingly remembered by his Yaya, Alicia; Grandma, Judy; Nephews, Hudson, Xander, Jerard, and James; and Nieces, Maggie and Gracie. TJ also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and close friends he proudly called his brothers.

Those who went before him are now holding him close; his Great Aunt Judy, Great Uncles Nate, Richard, and Kevin, Uncles Dan and Rob, and his loyal companions, Harley, Daisy, and Rock.

Though TJ’s time with us was far too short, his love, loyalty, and spirit will remain with us always. He will be deeply missed and forever carried in our hearts.

A wake will begin on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 4:00 pm at the St. Ignatius Longhouse. Closing ceremonies will start at 10:00 am on Friday, January 30th at the Longhouse.
