Virginia Carol Nygaard

Virginia Carol Nygaard was born on December 12, 1943, in Polson, MT to Alfred and Adella (Garbe) Butt from Pablo, MT. She was the 7th of 8 children. Virginia Married Jerry Nygaard on May 8, 1964. She lived a life defined by her deep love for the Lord, her husband and her three daughters, Lorri, Shari and Roxi. She enjoyed sewing and gardening as well as spending outdoor time with her family camping, fishing, and rafting the river. She was very active in volunteering at church and the Country Store.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry and siblings: Vera Milligan, Flora Barnard, Maxine Murphy, Louis Butt and grandson: Kruz McDermott.

Virginia is survived by her siblings, Luella Hofland, Esther Livingston, Linda Einspahar and Ernie Butt. Daughters; Lorri & husband Brent Passwater, Shari & husband Christopher Yoder, Roxi & husband Neal McDermott. Grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, Jennifer, Jeremy, Katie, Karlie & Kylie. Great-Grandchildren: Damian, Grace, Bristol, Hunter, Jesse, Ryan, Cecelia, LaReina.

A service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 am at MT Calvary Lutheran Church, Polson.
