Kalispell

Virginia Ann “Ginni” Sibley, 69, passed away on February 8, 2026, at Polson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Polson Montana, with family by her side. She is now finally at peace after a long struggle with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and gentle spirit.

Ginni was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on January 29, 1957. She grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis and graduated from high school in Burnsville Minnesota in 1975. Her daughter Terra was born in Minnesota in 1977 and her son Dylan was born in Minnesota in 1978.

In 1986 Ginni courageously left a bad marriage and brought her children to Conrad, Montana where her sister Patti lived at the time. It was there that she met Cal Sibley. They fell in love and were married in 1987.

After Conrad, they lived in Chester, Plains, and Dillon Montana, moving with Cal’s career job. Their son Caleb was born in 1991 while they were living in Plains and their son Chris was born in 1996 while they were living in Dillon.

Ginni always found meaningful work and community involvement wherever she lived. She taught disabled preschool children in Chester, worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Plains, and taught at the Head Start school in Dillon. In 2001 Ginni earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Western Montana College in Dillon. Soon after that, Ginni, Cal, and family moved to the Flathead valley and Ginni was offered a job teaching preschool age children at Woodland Montessori School in Kalispell. She was a diligent and devoted teacher there for many years, until her retirement in 2018.

Ginni is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver Cal, their sons Chris (Jasmine) and Caleb (Rose) and by Terra Bache (Craig) and Dylan Siegel (Alison). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Ruth McGrane and by her sister Patricia Hooper.

The family would like to thank the staff at Polson Health and Rehabilitation Center who were there for Ginni and the family with compassionate care and kept her comfortable during the final weeks of her life.

Donations in Ginni’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or locally to the Abbie Shelter.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
